About us
Bakke Medical was founded in 1997 by brothers Wayne and Brett Bakke, after changing their company name from Durban Hydraulics originally founded by their father Mike Bakke in 1965. In 2024 Brett passed away and in 2025 Waynes’ Son-in-law Peter Lebenya joined the business.
Our mission is to build a customer- centric brand that delivers affordable and reliable solutions in a highly specialised market. We achieve this through continuous learning, advocacy and research, ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of our customers.
